Knowing what to expect after an endoscopic deep plane facelift helps you plan work, travel and daily life. This is the recovery timeline Dr. Artur Díaz Carandell gives his patients. Every patient is different, and your own plan is confirmed at your consultation.
The surgery is performed under general anaesthesia at Clínica Sagrada Família, in Barcelona. The incisions are hidden inside the scalp, in the temporal area. No drains are used. You stay in the clinic for one or two nights.
The hemostatic net is removed and you can wash your hair.
Swelling starts to improve from the third or fourth day, although it can last up to three weeks. Bruising can also last up to three weeks, but it is generally small.
The stitches are removed. You can wear make-up again, and short flights are possible from this point.
Long-haul flights are possible. Most patients return to work between two and three weeks after surgery.
Most patients need around three weeks to feel well, and approximately one month before returning to exercise.
Follow-up visits are part of the result. They can be done in person in Barcelona or online.
